Low Value Shipments

Courier shipments valued up to CAD 2,500
will be delivered by the Couriers immediately after they arrive in their Canadian Warehouses.

Import duties and taxes are accounted for later.

The Low Value Shipment Program (LVS) was introduced by Canada Customs in 1993 to expedite the movement of small shipments into Canada.

LVS is used primarily for Air and Surface Courier shipments valued at maximum CAD 2,500.

Courier Companies participating in the Low Value System, among others, are DHL, FedEx, Purolator and UPS.

The advantage of LVS shipments is that they are usually delivered on the day on which they arrive in Canada. This is especially useful when you urgently require repair and replacement parts for equipment.

IT IS MOST IMPORTANT THAT ALL SHIPPING DOCUMENTS ARE MARKED AS FOLLOWS:

"CANADIAN CUSTOMS CLEARANCE BY
CMIS / CUSTOMS BROKERS CANADA
Tel. 905-792-0633    Fax 905-458-7355"

LVS shipments must be reported to Canada Customs by CUSTOMS BROKERS CANADA for duty and tax payments AFTER they have been cleared and delivered!

Customs Brokers Canada TIP:

Where the value of parts or other items exceeds CAD 2,500 it may be useful - although more expensive - to split extremely urgent shipments into two or more separate parts to obtain instant Customs clearance and delivery under the Low Value System.

PLEASE NOTE that import duties and taxes must still be accounted for after any shipment is passed through Customs under the Low Value System!
